Hi everyone, Happy summer solstice! According to BDH and Little Buddha's research, we are looking at a total of 15 hours and 17 minutes of sunlight today. That's outstanding. (The guys also say highs will be in the 90's, which is a different issue.) It's too bad we can't have this much light every day, but I guess we have to deal with long nights in the winter in order to appreciate this more. At least, that's what I'll be telling myself in December. Anyway, let's check out the headlines. There's a fresh pot of coffee on the counter, so... Read more →

Hi everyone, Welcome back! How are you? What's the plan for the weekend? We probably won't be up to much except for a socially-distanced Father's Day celebration with Dad Clutter. The rain is already disappearing from next week's weather forecast, so I may have to start thinking about multiple garden waterings each week for the time being. Everything is just so dry. BDH and Little Buddha have already parked themselves by the fan for the day, but don't worry, they also made coffee. There's a fresh pot on the table, so grab yourself a nice medium DD, and let's clear... Read more →

Hi everyone, Welcome back! How are you? BDH and Little Buddha shut off my alarm again when I wasn't looking, so I got a little extra sleep last night. They said I was productive yesterday, but they didn't like that I was exhausted by 5:00, and they felt I could use another reset. I can't disagree with any of that. I'm lucky to have the two of them looking out for me. It sounds like today is going to be a hot one, so maybe we'll stick to a few low-key activities inside, watch a House rerun or two, enjoy... Hi everyone, Welcome back! How are you? We're all doing fine at the moment, except for one small thing. BDH and Little Buddha saw a blurb about the maximum amount of sunlight for the year being this coming Saturday, and none of us want to talk about what that means for the rest of 2020. In more positive news, I gave the garden a good long soaking last night, and that was fun. The plants could use an extended stretch of rain, and it's in the forecast for 10 days, starting next Monday. I'm not saying we expect it to... Read more →

Hi everyone, Welcome back! How are you? I'm just waiting for BDH and Little Buddha to give me today's weather forecast. Ah, here they are. Hi guys. Sunny with highs in the upper 70's? We can work with that. I definitely need to water the garden today. We could use about a week of a solid rain around here. I also have to go grocery shopping, and our staff has already given me a list of all of the snacks they would like. They also made a fresh pot of coffee, so grab yourself a nice medium DD, and let's... Read more →

Hi everyone, Welcome back! How are you? Ready for a new week? Yeah, neither are we. The to-do list is fairly long at the moment. Half of it is fine, but the other half will be a drag, so you can guess which ones we'll most likely get to today. It's pretty cloudy outside, but BDH and Little Buddha say say it's not supposed to rain, so I should add "water the garden" to the list. First, let's see what's going on in the news. The guys made coffee, so grab yourself a nice medium DD, because it's time to... Read more →

I don't want to do this. Please don't make me do this. There has to be another option. I think I'm going to be ill. Fine, let's get it over with: I'm here to defend Donald Trump, specifically, his hands. By now, many of you have seen the clip circulating on social media of Donald Trump struggling not to spill a glass of water while speaking at the West Point graduation ceremony. He looks like he's holding on to the glass for dear life with two hands, as if it contains a dangerous chemical that will cause an explosion if... Read more →

Hi everyone, Welcome back! How are you? I don't know what happened, but the sleeping problems came back with a vengeance last night. Our crew was up late watching House reruns (and remaining fascinated by Hugh Laurie's transformation), and then it was time for bed. I fell asleep pretty quickly but woke up about an hour later thinking about multiple topics and unable to shut down any of the internal discussions. Mind you, I wasn't stressed or anxious about anything. I just couldn't stop thinking about all of it. It was one of those nights where you're sure you didn't... Read more →

Spike Lee is back with a new movie called Da 5 Bloods, which was originally intended for the theaters but is now out on Netflix. It's the story of four black Vietnam veterans who return to the former battlefield to both reclaim the remains of their fallen leader, as well as recover a box of stolen gold bars they hid some 50 years earlier. It's an ambitious movie, and Lee seems to be trying to make one of the defining statements in the Black Lives Matter era. The final result is a powerful and thought-provoking experience. The veterans are Paul... Read more →

Hi everyone, Welcome back! How are you? We finished another week - good for us! It feels like this one went by quicker than usual, but I'm not sure why. Maybe it's because I've already sort of forgotten the two days where I didn't get enough sleep (which was finally addressed last night.) Do you have anything interesting planned for the weekend? It will probably be business as usual around here, although BDH and Little Buddha want to see if they can find a movie to watch on-demand. We're not going back to the theaters any time soon, so we...
