Neil Gaiman Feed

It's been a seemingly eternal wait, but the first season of the Netflix adaptation of Neil Gaiman's classic The Sandman comic is finally here. Originally announced in 2019, all 10 episodes have now been released. Does this version live up to the hype? Our initial reaction after watching Episode 1 is that our patience has been rewarded. The first chapter of this adventure is faithful to the comics: Dream, lord of the realm of dreaming, is mistakenly captured by a cult looking to imprison Death instead. After being imprisoned for over a century, Dream (also known as Morpheus) finally escapes... Read more →

Hi everyone, Welcome back! How are you? BDH and Little Buddha are reviewing the weather forecast again. We never got any rain yesterday, but it sure looks like it's about to start in an hour or so. One way or another, the garden is getting some water today. Oh, before I forget, there's a chance that we may not be able to meet up with you on Friday. We'll post any updates on our Facebook page, but we just wanted to give you a heads-up now. The birds are getting pretty loud at the moment. The guys think that means... Read more →

We loved everything about the 2019 Good Omens series on Amazon. The original book, written by Neil Gaiman and the late Terry Pratchett, was one of our favorite reads. You also can't beat the pairing of David Tennant and Michael Sheen as the demon Crowley and angel Aziraphale who are trying to save the world from an 11-year-old antichrist. We enjoyed every minute of each episode, especially the relationship between Crowley and Aziraphale. It was sad when the story was over. It could have been twice as long, and that would have been fine. However, the finish was true to... Read more →

We have largely missed the podcast craze of recent years. Maybe it's an attention span issue, but we're always willing to make time to listen to Clutter favorite/former Doctor Who star David Tennant. That's especially true when he's talking to this week's guest, Neil Gaiman. The author is responsible for one of our all-time favorite Doctor Who stories ("The Doctor's Wife"), as well as the Good Omens novel and series (which featured Mr. Tennant and Michael Sheen), and the Sandman universe, which blew us away when we finally read it a few years ago. We would pay handsomely to listen... Read more →

Hi everyone, Welcome back! How are you? I was just sitting here waiting for a weather report from BDH and Little Buddha. Let's see, they say it's supposed to be cloudy this morning, sunny in the afternoon, and cloudy again in the evening. We can work with that. Oh, and the guys also say the coffee is ready. Excellent. Grab yourself a nice medium DD, and let's clear out some Tuesday Clutter. (As always, if you'd like to support our coffee budget, please consider using the Clutter Amazon page for your shopping needs.) It makes sense that a new poll... Read more →

As a general rule, we're inclined to dread the impending arrival of Armageddon. It just does not sound like a fun time at all. However, given that it provides an opportunity for David Tennant and Michael Sheen to team up, we're willing to keep an open mind. It turns out that's a good call, because the two stars of the new Amazon Prime Video series, Good Omens, are a perfect match as a demon and angel trying to prevent the end of the world. It's up to an angel and a demon to save everyone. (pic via imdb.com) Based on... Read more →

We're not big fans of winter around here. All that dark and cold. Don't care for it. Bring us increased sunlight and warmer temperatures, thank you very much. The spring brings the promise of all sorts of fun...like the potential apocalypse? Mind you, we don't really want the world to end. That's why we're so excited to get this look at the first full trailer for the upcoming mini- series Good Omens, based on the wonderful novel by Neil Gaiman and the late Terry Pratchett. You've got the pairing of David Tennant as a demon named Crowley, and Michael Sheen... Read more →

Hi everyone, Welcome back! How are you? It's a very special day at Clutter Headquarters. That's right, it's BDH's birthday! Our little blue friend joined our crew eight years ago today, and we can't imagine what it would be like around here without him. He brings a joy to the day for all of his friends, especially Little Buddha. As I've mentioned before, Buddha's been with me for a little over 26 years now, but his smile got even wider when he and BDH became best buddies. I expect we'll do a lot of celebrating, but we still need to... Read more →

Author Neil Gaiman has written some of our all-time favorite stories, including Sandman, Good Omens, American Gods, and The Doctor's Wife. He's got a wonderfully creative mind which has led us into worlds of darkness, fantasy, and whimsy, and he strikes a chord for us in a way that is distinctly Gaiman-esque. We consider him a creative role model in many ways, so that's why we were excited to check out his new book: Art Matters: Because Your Imagination Can Change the World. (Release date: November 20, 2018.) The book is a collection of four previous Gaiman essays, which are... Read more →
