Hi everyone,

Welcome back, and a happy Monday to you all.  How was your weekend?  Our crew had a blast watching the two new Doctor Who episodes that arrived on Disney+ on Friday.  It's definitely another reboot for the series, and we're excited to see where it goes next.  Mother's Day was a little challenging yesterday, but it was manageable.  I went for a bike ride and might have overdone it a bit.  However, there were no permanent injuries (I think.)

BDH and Little Buddha say we have a busy week ahead, but they'll help me navigate the craziness, so we'll be fine.  The guys also say we have coffee, so let's get to work.  Grab yourself a nice medium DD, because it's time to clear out some Clutter.

Former lawyer/fixer Michael Cohen is expected to testify in Donald Trump's hush money trial today.  That's sure to generate some drama.  Cohen was at the center of the $130,000 payment to adult film star Stormy Daniels ahead of the 2016 presidential election, so there's no one better able to speak about the cover-up to hide his actions.  Michael Cohen is no saint, having been convicted for his own role in this story.  However, since he was found guilty for his role, it only makes sense that his boss at the time would be as well.

Trump's defense team will do their best to destroy Cohen's credibility.  Regardless of whether he's a good person or not, Michael Cohen knows exactly what happened here, and he knows where other bodies are buried.

Donald Trump could be looking at a tax bill of over $100 million after an audit revealed he apparently double-dipped by claiming losses on the same building twice.  There was a reason he never publicly released his tax returns, friends.  The man is a pathological cheat and liar.

Poor corrupt U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas thinks Washington D.C. is "a hideous place" and believes it is unfair he's been criticized for not reporting improper gifts from billionaire donors.  If Justice Thomas thinks it's so bad, he should feel free to retire immediately and take another gig.  Otherwise, Democrats should impeach him once and for all and stop the ongoing damage he inflicts on the court's credibility.

A Democratic super PAC will spend $25 million on ads in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, focusing on Donald Trump's anti-abortion record.  This issue has repeatedly been a winner for Democrats since the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade two years ago.  The majority of the country doesn't want the government controlling their health decisions.  However, Trump and the GOP have made it clear they will punish women and push through a national abortion ban if given the chance.  These extremists must be defeated again in November.

The Biden administration is slowly finding its footing on criticizing Israel's conduct in the war against Hamas.  U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken was the latest to criticize Prime Minister Benjamn Netanyahu's government for killing so many innocent civilians while providing the fuel for "an enduring insurgency."

Investors may not love that interest rates will remain higher for longer than previously expected, but that pause doesn't usually translate to harm to their portfolios.

It looks like some Social Security recipients will receive two checks this month instead of the usual one.  Unfortunately, we're not talking about bonus money here, it's just a quirk of the calendar.  Sorry to disappoint you.

Everyone has to make their own health choices, but if you're thinking about drinking less, or stopping completely, we've got your back.

The Boston Red Sox beat the Washington Nationals 3-2 yesterday to win their weekend series and improve to 21-19 on the year.  It wasn't a pretty game, as the Sox were just 1-13 with runners in scoring position (an ongoing problem that needs to be addressed), but they still got the job done.  Brayan Bello had a good first outing after coming off the IL, giving up the two runs and four hits over five innings.

It's remarkable how well the team has handled the injuries to the pitching staff, and now that Bello and Nick Pivetta have returned (and hopefully Garrett Whitlock will soon join them), their depth has increased.  Now if they could get the offense on track, they could be onto something here.

Next up:  The Red Sox start a home series against the Tampa Bay Rays.  Kutter Crawford gets the start for Boston.

It sounds like New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye got off to a good start in the rookie minicamp this past weekend.  Of course it's incredibly early, but we're going to be optimistic about the kid until we get a reason to change direction.  He's young, and he'll need time to get up to speed, However, the 21-year-old Maye certainly sounds like he's got potential, so let's see how head coach Jerod Mayo and offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt improve his game.

The Washington Commanders are staying silent about new head coach Dan Quinn recently wearing a t-shirt which referenced the team's racist former name.  Officials say the shirt won't be sold by the organization, so hopefully this means Quinn just has bad taste and we're not going back to that slur.

People are expressing concern about Mike Tyson's upcoming boxing match with Jake Paul on July 20.  Tyson is 57 years old, and this is a no-win situation for him.  If he beats Paul, it does nothing for his image, because he beat a YouTube celebrity.  If Tyson loses, it damages his legacy, plus there's the real chance he could suffer serious injury.  Does he need the money that badly?  We still hope the fight gets cancelled for some reason, because this is just sad.

ICYMI - Maya Rudolph had another memorable appearance as Beyoncé on Hot Wings on this week's SNL episode:

We've watched two episodes of John Mulaney's Everybody's in L.A. on Netflix, and we're still not sure what to make of it.  The randomness was terrific, and Mulaney certainly seems like he could transition from stand-up comedian to talk show host if he decides to take that path.  On the other hand, if it turns out this was just a way for Mulaney to keep himself busy while he navigates his recovery program, and we'll never see the likes of this again from him, that's probably okay.  It's just always fun to see what he comes up with next.

Now that we know season 3 of The Bear will drop on June 27, we've started working our way through the back half of the second season on Hulu. Folks, what a remarkable show.  The first year was good, but season 2 is even better.  Tremendous storytelling and character development across the board.  We may still have to hold off a little while longer on watching the finale, because it would be hard to wait for over a month to see where things go from here.

Young Sheldon executive producer Steve Holland shared some thoughts about the planning and filming of last week's big moment.  We're still struck by the fact that fans knew for years that this was coming, and it was still a devastating blow.

NCIS star Katrina Law shared some fun insight into the filming of this year's season finale.  Do you think we've seen the last of the actress on the show?  Going by what we've read, her "departure" sounds like it could be a multi-episode arc next season that hopefully ends with the team still intact.

We just watched the first trailer for the upcoming Netflix series, Exploding Kittens, which sees former Lucifer star Tom Ellis a God in a cat's body.  All we can say is, sure, sign us up for...whatever this is, when it arrives in July:

The Foo Fighters and Wolfgang Van Halen pulled a funny prank on concertgoers this past weekend.

Sebastian Bach is still out there pushing for a reunion with Skid Row.  Bach just released a new solo album, so one would think he'd focus on that for a while, but the singer is seemingly obsessed about reuniting with his former bandmates.

Okay kids, that's going to do it for now.  Let's have Only Murders in the Building star Selena Gomez close things out with, "Love On" for today's, "Song of the Day."

Thanks for stopping by, folks.  It was great to see you, as always.  Enjoy the rest of your day, be good, and we'll catch up with you again soon.  Until next time, that's today's Clearing out the Clutter, and we are outta here.
