"Good Omens 2" is Coming!
06/30/2021
We loved everything about the 2019 Good Omens series on Amazon. The original book, written by Neil Gaiman and the late Terry Pratchett, was one of our favorite reads. You also can't beat the pairing of David Tennant and Michael Sheen as the demon Crowley and angel Aziraphale who are trying to save the world from an 11-year-old antichrist. We enjoyed every minute of each episode, especially the relationship between Crowley and Aziraphale. It was sad when the story was over. It could have been twice as long, and that would have been fine. However, the finish was true to the ending of the book, so we figured that was that, and all we could do was appreciate that it happened in the first place.
Our understanding of the world has suddenly been thrown into chaos, because it's been revealed that Good Omens 2 is about to begin production! Excuse us? How did this happen? It turns out that while Gaiman and Pratchett only wrote the one book, they did plot out a sequel. Tennant and Sheen will once again team up to solve another mystery, this time involving an angel with no memory. Neil Gaiman will again serve as a show co-runner, Douglas Mackinnon is back to direct the six-part adventure, and John Finnemore joins the team as a co-writer.
There's no word on a release date yet, but if they're about to start production, we're probably looking at the first half of 2022 at the earliest. The impatience has already started building, but mostly, we appreciate that every once in a while, the universe can drop a terrific present in your lap with no warning!
