September 2019

Hi everyone, Welcome back, and a happy Monday to you all! Really, it's a chilly Monday is what it is. BDH and Little Buddha just told me it's 38 degrees here at the moment. I guess I'll finally have to start rotating the fall wardrobe back into active use and make sure the guys' sweatshirts are clean. I'm still trying to convince myself that, apart from the end of gardening season, fall isn't that bad. Making a little bit of progress on that front, but winter is still a drag. I'm being told not to jump ahead a season, and... Read more →

Hi everyone, Welcome back! Come on in, have a seat. How are you? BDH and Little Buddha were just telling me that there's already less than 12 hours between the day's sunrise and sunset. Ugh. In much more positive news, they also say that today's coffee is ready. There's a fresh pot on the counter, so grab yourself a nice medium DD, and let's clear out some Sunday Clutter. (As always, if you'd like to support our coffee budget, please consider using the Clutter Amazon page for your shopping needs.) There's been a lot of news on the Donald Trump... Read more →

Hi everyone, Welcome back! How are you? Any big plans for the weekend? I don't think we've got anything too crazy happening here. I just need to make some time to cut back the garden some more, and BDH and Little Buddha will probably supervise that. I feel like I'm missing something, though. Oh well, that can wait until later. The guys just said the coffee is ready, so grab yourself a nice medium DD, and let's clear out some Friday Clutter. (As always, if you'd like to support our coffee budget, please consider using the Clutter Amazon page for... Read more →

Longtime readers know we are diehard David Tennant fans around here. The former Doctor Who star can do no wrong as far as our staff is concerned, so of course we had to check out his guest role in the new Netflix show: Criminal: UK. Tennant plays Doctor Edgar Fallon, a man accused of sexually assaulting and murdering his 14 year-old stepdaughter. While Tennant continues his streak of terrific performances, the program's structure left us indifferent to the series. The episode begins in a cramped interrogation room, as two investigators are running out of time to get Doctor Fallon to... Read more →

Hi everyone, Welcome back! Come on in, have a seat. How are you? We were up past our bedtime last night so we could watch all of the "One Chicago" season premieres. More on those later, but we'll probably have to set the DVR to record Chicago PD going forward, because we need our beauty rest. On a completely different topic, did September go by faster than usual, or is that just us? Maybe it's because it's been nicer weather than we were expecting. Anyway, BDH and Little Buddha just made a fresh pot of coffee, so grab yourself a... Read more →

Hi everyone, Welcome back! BDH, Little Buddha and I were just looking at the headlines, and there's nothing going on today. No big stories of national importance that could decide the fate of democracy in the country or anything, so we were thinking about just going back to sleep and trying again tomorrow. Does that work for you? Of course we're kidding. The guys just made a fresh pot of coffee, and you know what we're here to discuss. Grab yourself a nice medium DD, and let's clear out some Wednesday Clutter. (As always, if you'd like to support our... Read more →

Hi everyone, Welcome back! How are you? BDH, Little Buddha, and I were just talking about today's to-do list. It's nothing too crazy, so we'll finish that after we're done here. The guys say the coffee is ready, so grab yourself a nice medium DD, and let's clear out some Tuesday Clutter. (As always, if you'd like to support our coffee budget, please consider using the Clutter Amazon page for your shopping needs.) Donald Trump ordered military aid withheld to Ukraine before his phone call with the country's president to pressure Voldymyr Zelenskiy to investigate Joe Biden. The facts are... Read more →

Hi everyone, Welcome back! Come on in, have a seat. We hope you all had a great weekend. Do you have anything big on the schedule for the week? I need to water the garden this afternoon, although I suspect it's going to rain about an hour after I'm done. Better safe than sorry, though. Also gotta get the car inspected later this week, so hopefully that will go without incident. Other than that, we're mostly just plugging away here and wondering a bit why September is going by so quickly. Hold on, is today the first day of fall?... Read more →

Hi everyone, Welcome back. How is your weekend going so far? Everything is fine on this end, except that I woke up with a splitting headache this morning. I feel like I'm hungover, which is annoying, because I didn't have anything to drink last night. Don't know what that's about, but BDH and Little Buddha already brought me some Advil and promised not to make a lot of noise this morning. Of course, they also made coffee for everyone. There's a fresh pot on the table, so grab yourself a nice medium DD, please speak softly, and let's clear out... Read more →

Between Two Ferns, starring Zach Galifianakis, first debuted in 2012. A take-off on community access talk shows, Galifianakis has hosted some of Hollywood's biggest stars over the years (as well as leaders like Barack Obama), and he's asked them some of the rudest, dumbest, and most awkward questions of their careers. It's brilliant. The episodes are only a few minutes long and have a high tears of laughter/minute ratio. It's no accident that they've been watched so many times on the Funny or Die website. Galifianakis and company decided to expand the concept to a new Netflix film called, appropriately... Read more →
