April 2019

Hi everyone, Welcome back. Come on in, have a seat. How are you? We're all fine at the moment. I was just telling BDH and Little Buddha about catching up with some friends last night. I hadn't seen that crew in about 20 years, so that was fun. Oh, I still need to find these guys a new book to read. Any suggestions? In the meantime, the guys say the coffee is ready, so grab yourself a nice medium DD, and let's clear out some Sunday Clutter. Terrible news out of Sri Lanka, as bombings at three churches and four... Read more →

Hi everyone, Welcome back, and a happy Friday to you all. Any big plans for the weekend? Of course, many of you are probably celebrating Passover or Easter. I'd like to get some garden time, but I think it's supposed to rain for most of the weekend, so that might not work. Maybe I'll get BDH and Little Buddha a new book and hang out with them while they read. We'll see. It's another windy day around here, which I don't love, and neither does the Clutter Tree. Speaking of the tree, if any of you could send a few... Read more →

Hi everyone, Welcome back! How are you? We've already had some excitement here today. Well, "excitement" might not be the right word. An alarm went off somewhere in the neighborhood at 2:30 this morning, and it didn't stop until at least 4:00, so that was fun. I couldn't tell where it was coming from, but I didn't see flames anywhere or hear sirens, so that's a good sign. Still, an alarm that can wail for 90 minutes straight doesn't seem like the most effective warning system. Anyway, that threw off my sleep a bit, but BDH and Little Buddha promised... Read more →

Hi everyone, Welcome back! Come on in, have a seat. How's your week going? It's been pretty productive here so far. That crazy wind finally died down, but the heat just came on for a minute, so we're not done with cold weather yet. On the flip side, the sun rises early enough now that we don't have to turn the lights on in the morning, so that's helpful. What's also helpful is coffee. BDH and Little Buddha put a fresh pot on the counter, so grab yourself a nice medium DD, because it's time to clear out some Wednesday... Read more →

We made a mistake. We had the best of intentions, but it's clear we made an error. It all seemed pretty straight-forward, but now we've got a problem. Avengers: Endgame is right around the corner, and there's a new trailer, so we thought we'd check it out. No harm, no foul, right? The problem is that now we won't be able to get to sleep between now and April 26, because this clip is just awesome. It's a simple straightforward recap of how we arrived at this moment, and we've still got goosebumps. Eleven years of universe building that comes... Read more →

Hi everyone, Welcome back! Come on in, have a seat. Are you having the same crazy wind we're having here? It woke us all up a few times last night, and I guess it's supposed to continue until this evening. I wrap several windows each winter, and man does that pay off, because otherwise it would probably be about 15 degrees colder in here right now. Anyway, they say that April showers bring May flowers, but our yard is considerably greener now than it was 24 hours ago because of yesterday's rain. That's so exciting! In other good news, BDH... Cecile Richards has spent most of her life as a "troublemaker," whether it's organizing labor groups across the country to unionize and improve their economic situations, or leading the defense of reproductive health services. The daughter of former Texas Governor Ann Richards and a civil rights attorney, Cecile Richards understands that activism is a critical component of our democracy, and it is not a spectator sport. She, along with co-author Lauren Peterson, lays out the story of her life, and tells of the incredible courage of so many women (and a few good men) she's known, in her book, Make... Read more →

Hi everyone, Welcome back! It's a rainy Monday, and that leaves us even more in awe of the folks who are running the Boston Marathon today. The idea of voluntarily running 26.2 miles is already beyond us, but in this weather? Forget about it. Best of luck to all of the runners, as well as their family and friends who are going to get soaked while cheering them on. We've got a few things to take care of today. None of it is as challenging as running a marathon, but BDH and Little Buddha think it's important we start this... Read more →

Hi everyone, Welcome back! How are you? Our crew is enjoying a nice lazy Saturday at the moment. We slept in for the first time in ages, which was a treat. It was probably made easier by the sound of the falling rain. BDH and Little Buddha have been engrossed in their new book all morning. However, they put it down and ran off to make the coffee as soon as I mentioned you were on your way. They say it's ready, so grab yourself a nice medium DD, and let's clear out some Clutter. Donald Trump continues to blatantly... Read more →

The first trailer for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is here! Like many, we loved the original Star Wars trilogy, but our feelings about the "new generation" of movies have been all over the place. (It's still amazing that anyone thought a movie about a trade war was a good idea.) However, as the hype begins for the final chapter of this story, we're hopeful that the powers that be will bring it to a satisfying conclusion, and this first glimpse looks promising. The new generation of stars is here, with Rey, Kylo Ren, Poe, and Finn (among others)... Read more →
