Hi everyone,

Welcome back!  How are you?  I'm such a dolt sometimes.  I've been dealing with sinus issues for weeks, if not months now.  It's probably months.  Everything flared up even more last week, and you may remember I mentioned that I lost my voice.  It also made the pre-existing ringing in my ears worse, which is a drag.  Well, it was finally pointed out to me that perhaps I needed to take some allergy meds.  Pretty sure I should have thought of that.  However, what makes it even worse is that I have no idea how many times I've looked right at the generic Claritin on the bathroom shelf during this stretch.  It's as if I had no idea why I bought it in the first place!  Good lord.  BDH and Little Buddha say there's only way to handle a situation like this: take the pills and enjoy some coffee.  They just made a fresh pot, so help yourself to a nice medium DD, and let's clear out some Wednesday Clutter.

Donald Trump's meeting with Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer yesterday was a sight to behold.  Trump tried to belittle Pelosi, who was having none of it, and you know how much strong women anger Trump and the rest of the GOP.  Pelosi and Schumer then made it clear to Trump that Democrats are not going to agree to fund that stupid wall, and if Trump shuts down the government over it, that's his decision.  The Great Pumpkin took the bait and agreed on-camera that a shutdown would be his idea and he wouldn't blame Democrats.  What happened to Mexico paying for the wall?

Meanwhile, Vice President Mike Pence seemed to spend much of the meeting admiring the magnificence of his own hands, which was about as much value as one would expect from him in this situation.  Trump's failures as a politician are going to be further exposed once Democrats take over the House in January.  Besides the endless list of investigations, the man's gotten used to having the House Republicans roll over for him, and as yesterday showed, he doesn't do well with pushback.

Donald Trump says 10-12 people want to be his chief of staff.  However, it's not clear if any of those people exist outside of Trump's head.

Michael Cohen will be sentenced today.  Trump's former fixer is looking at a maximum of four years in prison, but his lawyers have argued he should only get probation because of his cooperation with prosecutors.  Either way, another Trump tweet-tantrum should be starting any time now.

Jamal Khashoggi and several other reporters were named Time's "Person of the Year" for 2018.  The group has been labeled "the guardians" in "the War on Truth," and it's a fitting title which sums up this year in a nutshell.

British Prime Minister Theresa May is facing a vote of no-confidence today as Conservative MP's object to her handling of Brexit.  If she loses the vote, she will be out as Conservative leader, and her resignation as prime minister would likely soon follow.

It's not surprising to hear rumors about a possible 2020 primary challenge for Representative Seth Moulton (D-MA) after his attempted revolt against Nancy Pelosi.  Many of his constituents are angry over that move, and Rep. Moulton could be vulnerable to the same changing dynamics that were felt in Massachusetts and across the country during this year's mid-term elections.

Google released their list of the top 10 searches of 2018.  There are a number of high-profile deaths on the list, along with a couple of other topics that probably won't surprise anyone.

It looks like the Boston Red Sox will largely keep their roster intact in 2019, but there will be at least one change:  Alex Cora is planning to drop Mookie Betts to the #2 spot in the line-up with Andrew Benintendi at leadoff.  The 2018 MVP seemed pretty comfortable at the top of the order, but the move might let him beat his 80 RBI total from this year.

Little surprised to hear that Tim Neverett is out as part of the Boston Red Sox radio team.  Neverett had been calling games with Joe Castiglione for the past three seasons, but there were apparently problems with WEEI that led him to decide not to renew his contract.  BDH and Little Buddha would like to know where they should send their resumes to apply for the gig.

Congratulations to outfielder Andrew McCutchen who just snagged himself a three-year/$50 million deal with the Philadelphia Phillies.

The NFL announced that their 2019 team salary cap will increase to somewhere between $187 million and $191.1 million.  The league continues to make money hand over fist, which is why owners don't care about pesky little issues like domestic violence, and there's no room for someone who might risk a dollar of profit by speaking their minds like Colin Kaepernick.

If the New England Patriots beat the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, the money here says it will take Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger about five minutes to blame it on his ribs.  We hold him in low regard for his multiple sexual assault cases, but even on the field, he's a high-maintenance diva.

Scott Derrickson agreed to direct the Doctor Strange sequel, so we're going to go out on a limb here and predict that Doctor Strange comes back from the dead in Avengers: Endgame.  Such wild speculation isn't usually our thing, but this feels like a decent guess.

We have periodically wondered why actress Sophia Bush left Chicago P.D. last year, and Bush recently discussed the reasons behind her departure.

It doesn't look like Van Halen is going to get back to work anytime soon, so David Lee Roth is keeping busy by launching a skin-care line that protects tattoos.  Sounds about right.

Okay kids, that's going to do it for now.  We need to add some pep to what is currently a pretty grey Wednesday, so here's Boy Meets Girl with, "Waiting for a Star to Fall, " for today's, "Song of the Day."

Thanks for stopping by, everyone.  BDH and Little Buddha want you to know you're welcome to come back later to watch the fall finales of Chicago Med/Fire/P.D. with us if you like.  Otherwise, enjoy the rest of your day, be good, and we'll meet back here again for more fun soon.  Until next time, that's today's Clearing out the Clutter, and we are outta here.
