November 2018

The holidays are right around the corner, and we've got the perfect present for the Boston Red Sox fan in your life. Major League Baseball is releasing, “The 2018 World Series: Damage Done,” on December 4. This 80-minute DVD will let your loved ones relive the glory of the 2018 season, as the greatest team in Red Sox history (not counting 2004, which is in a category of its own), ran over everyone on the way to their fourth championship in the last 14 years. This is the sort of gift which makes staying up for all 400 hours of... Read more →

Hi everyone, Welcome back, and a happy Friday to you all! Any big plans for the weekend? Nothing too crazy here, except that spring training tickets go on sale tomorrow morning, so hopefully we'll be able to get them straight from the Red Sox, rather than paying about 3x more through another site. Fingers crossed! In the meantime, let's have a look at today's headlines. BDH and Little Buddha just brought in a fresh pot of coffee, so help yourself to a nice medium DD, because it's time to clear out some Clutter. Of course, the big news is that... Read more →

Welcome back, everyone! We hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving. It's been a couple of weeks since we saw this crew, and all of their problems were solved during the break! Just kidding, they're a mess as this week's episode of A Million Little Things touches on the anguish people sometimes face when they feel helpless to stop the loss of a loved one. Let's discuss... Warning: Spoilers ahead Observations: We start with Maggie pretty clearly dreaming as she's facing a plane crash with a guy named "Chad," who's drinking while he's flying the aircraft. The Cure's "Lovesong" plays in... Read more →

Hi everyone, Welcome back! How are you? I went to the gym for the first time in 10 days yesterday. Gotta make sure that fun in December doesn't wreck my physical in January. It was good to get back in there, but somehow the weights seem to have gotten heavier, and my arms are a little sore this morning. BDH and Little Buddha offered to handle the writing today, but I reminded them that they don't know how to type, so they said they'd stick with the coffee. (Plus, I can't let them do"everything" around here.) They just made a... Read more →

Hi everyone, Welcome back! How are you? We're just plugging away on this end. BDH and Little Buddha are still working on their Christmas lists. They're particularly interested in getting some new books to read, so let us know if you have any suggestions. They're also trying to find a present for the Clutter Tree, so any thoughts there would also be appreciated. In the meantime, they made some coffee, so help yourself to a nice medium DD, and let's clear out some Wednesday Clutter. It's disappointing, although unsurprising to see that Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith beat Mike Espy in yesterday's... Read more →

Hi everyone, Welcome back! Come on in, have a seat. It's a bit ugly out there at the moment, but I think it's supposed clear up this afternoon. At least no major shoveling will be required. However it sounds like the roads are a mess, so be careful if you're driving today. I had a number of odd dreams last night. The details don't really matter, but they involved pairings of random people I know and locations that I haven't thought of recently/ever. I asked BDH and Little Buddah if they also had any weird dreams, but they said theirs... Read more →

Author Neil Gaiman has written some of our all-time favorite stories, including Sandman, Good Omens, American Gods, and The Doctor's Wife. He's got a wonderfully creative mind which has led us into worlds of darkness, fantasy, and whimsy, and he strikes a chord for us in a way that is distinctly Gaiman-esque. We consider him a creative role model in many ways, so that's why we were excited to check out his new book: Art Matters: Because Your Imagination Can Change the World. (Release date: November 20, 2018.) The book is a collection of four previous Gaiman essays, which are... Read more →

The Doctor and friends accidentally stumble into 17th century witch trials and find out there's more going on than meets the eye. This week's episode swings hard at religious intolerance and misogyny, while also throwing in an alien threat. Let's discuss... Warning: Spoilers ahead Observations: First off, can we just talk about the opening credits again? The visuals and revised theme music do a tremendous job of setting the stage for each week's adventure. We'd argue this is the best sequence of the modern era. (Tom Baker's original credits will always be our favorite.) Does anyone want to argue for... Read more →

Hi everyone, Welcome back! How are you? Any big plans for the week? We imagine a lot of you will be scouring the Internet for some Cyber Monday deals today. Good luck with that. BDH and Little Buddha are still working on their lists, so we're still holding off on our shopping at the moment. We've got a number of other errands to take care of, so this should be a pretty busy week. For now, let's see what's going on in the world. The guys say the coffee is ready, so help yourself to a nice medium DD, and... Read more →

Hi everyone, Welcome back! Come on in, make yourself comfortable. How are you? The plumber came and fixed our heating issue on Friday, which is good, but it blew a hole in this month's budget, so we're going to wait until December to start our Christmas shopping. That's just as well, it gives BDH and Little Buddha more time to work on their lists. Other than that, it's business as usual around here. The guys say the coffee is ready, so help yourself to a nice medium DD, and let's clear out some Sunday Clutter. It's great to hear that... Read more →
