Hi everyone,

Welcome back!  How are you?  We were just looking at the weather forecast again.  Should be a touch cooler, with a slight chance of rain.  That's fine, as long as the rain isn't too heavy.  I've got to spend a good amount of time in the car today, and I don't need a repeat of that flash flood incident from a few weeks ago.  Other than that, everything is good here at the moment.  BDH and Little Buddha were just talking about what they'd like to eat over Labor Day weekend.  Don't tell them, but I think I'm going to surprise them with some lobster rolls.  Oh, here they come with the coffee.  Thanks, guys!  Folks, help yourself to a nice medium DD, and let's clear out some Thursday Clutter.

That didn't take long:  A mere few hours after the end of the Florida gubernatorial primaries, Republican candidate Rep. Ron DeSantis warned Florida voters not to "monkey this up" by voting for Andrew Gillum, the African-American Tallahassee mayor.  DeSantis couldn't pull out the racist dog whistle fast enough.  This is the modern GOP:  They don't see racism as something to be denied or avoided.  They see it as a core of their election strategy, and they're not bashful about showing it.

Donald Trump still says his administration did "a fantastic job" dealing with the hurricanes in Puerto Rico, even after it was announced that almost 3000 people died as a result of those disasters.  Trump can't be bothered to pretend he understands that we're talking about Americans here, so this is a blatant lie that comes particularly easy to him.  This administration has blood on its hands because they think Puerto Ricans have the wrong skin color.  Have we mentioned the midterm elections are a little over nine weeks away?

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and challenger Cynthia Nixon had their one debate yesterday before the state's Democratic primary on September 13, and neither of them held back.  Nixon is currently behind the incumbent by double-digits in the latest polls, but there have been a number of recent polling surprises around the country (see: the Florida governor's race.)  Will this be the next upset?

We knew it wasn't just us - there are a lot of dead squirrels on the NH roads right now.  It's slightly disturbing to see how many of them litter the roads.

The Boston Red Sox beat the Miami Marlins 14-6 yesterday for their 92nd win of the year.  Things did not get off to a great start for the Sox.  David Price wasn't nearly as sharp as he had been in recent starts, giving up three runs in three innings before being knocked out of the game after getting hit on the arm by a line drive at the end of the third.  The Sox were down 5-3 going into the bottom of the seventh inning, before the bats finally awoke from their slumber and put a beating on the Marlins.  Boston sent 15 batters to the plate and scored 11 runs before the inning was over.  Hopefully that outburst marks the end of the team's recent offensive woes.  The Sox now hit the road, and Rick Porcello takes the mound for Boston when they face the Chicago White Sox tonight and try to build on their 7 1/2 game lead over the New York Yankees.

The Green Bay Packers signed Aaron Rodgers to a four-year extension worth $134 million, with about $103 million of that guaranteed.  Rodgers will reportedly be getting $80 million of it between now and March 2019, so drinks are on him.

The Cleveland Browns have had every problem you can imagine over the years, but linebacker Mychal Kendricks being indicted for insider trading has to be a first.  The Browns have since released Kendricks.

UFC legends Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz are going to fight again on PPV on November 24?  That's a mistake.  Both men are past their primes, particularly Liddell, who hasn't been anything resembling a dominant fighter in about 10 years.  Someone could get seriously hurt here.  The California State Athletic Commission should reconsider their decision to sanction this bout before it's too late.

We mentioned here on Tuesday that Alec Baldwin would be in the new Joker movie.  Scratch that, because Baldwin just bailed from the film.

The upcoming Neil Armstrong biopic (starring Ryan Gosling and Claire Foy) looks six shades of awesome.  Check out the trailer for First Man:

Bugger:  Top Gun: Maverick has been pushed back to June 2020.

Okay kids, that's going to do it for now.  Let's see... how about we have Jane's Addiction take us out with, "Jane Says," for today's, "Song of the Day."  Feels like a good "end of August" kind of tune.  Yeah, let's do that.

Thanks for stopping by, everyone.  It was great to see you, as always.  Enjoy the rest of your day, be good, and we'll meet up again for more fun soon.  Until next time, that's today's Clearing out the Clutter, and we are outta here.
