Hi everyone,

Welcome back!  How are you?  We were just discussing how it's a touch on the chilly side in here this morning.  Not that it's "cold," it's just not already 80 degrees with 100% humidity.  Not in any rush for fall, but last night was the best sleep we've had in about week.  Why can't we just live in a world where spring is four months, summer is six months, fall is two months, and then we go right back to spring?  Anyway, BDH and Little Buddha made the coffee, so help yourself to a nice medium DD, and let's clear out some Sunday Clutter.

Interesting to hear that White House counsel Don McGahn has been cooperating with Robert Mueller's investigation.  Apparently,

"McGahn became concerned that the President planned to set him up to be held responsible for any potential illegal incidents of obstruction, the Times reported, citing to people close to him. So the White House counsel and his attorney came up with a strategy to cooperate as extensively as possible with the special counsel in order to prove that there was no wrongdoing by McGahn."

Donald Trump is currently claiming he "allowed" McGhan to cooperate, but it's easy to imagine that Trump has deluded himself into thinking McGhan is bending over backwards to protect him like a personal lawyer.  You can bet that the Great Pumpkin's story will change at the first sign that McGhan gave investigators any damaging information.

Robert Mueller recommended that former Trump campaign aide George Papadopoulos be sentenced to six months in jail for lying to investigators.

Sorry to hear that Kofi Annan died on Saturday.  The former head of the United Nations was a leader dedicated to world peace and human rights, which eventually lead to him winning the Nobel Peace Prize in 2001.  Our condolences go out to his family and friends.  Kofi Annan was 80 years old.

The Boston Red Sox beat the Tampa Bay Rays 5-2 last night.  David Price had a strong outing, giving up just five hits and the two runs, to go with eight strikeouts, over seven innings.  Price has been on a roll lately, and the pressure will be on him to keep it gong for the rest of the season and into October. The Red Sox scored four runs in the first and never looked back.  Hector Velazquez takes the mound for Boston today instead of Chris Sale as the Sox go for another series sweep.  Why is Velazquez starting?  Read our next item...

It's not a good sign that Chris Sale has gone back on the DL with the same shoulder inflammation that put him on the shelf earlier this month.   Hopefully this stint will be the final one, because this team's success depends heavily on the tall lefty.  (It will be great if David Price can finish the year in dominant form, but we're not counting on it.)  Sale is a show every time he takes the mound, but the concerns about his ability to stay healthy over the course of a full season have to be growing.  Will this impact the team's thinking when his contract expires after the 2019 season?

You've got to see the first pitch that Sister Mary Jo Sobieck threw before yesterday's Kansas City Royals - Chicago White Sox game.  No word yet on whether or not the White Sox offered her a contract afterwards, but there are other teams who could use this kind of talent on the mound.

Netflix is reportedly testing ads between programs.  Pretty sure one of the main reasons people pay for their subscriptions is to be able to avoid these, no?

This 3-D rendering of Homer Simpson reminds us all that it's a good thing he's actually an animated character, because there's no way this guy would have lasted 29 seasons.

The upcoming third season of Stranger Things will reportedly be influenced by...Fletch?  Did not see that one coming.  Maybe it will also include a cameo by Chevy Chase at some point, since he seems to have plenty of free time these days.

Kevin Spacey's new movie took in $126 on its first day.  That's not a typo.  Billionaire Boys Club was released in 10 theaters, so that works out to a little more than one person per theater.  Karma is a wonderful thing.   Hollywood will forgive just about anything, but not making money is a cardinal sin.

It sounds like a Rihanna documentary will finally be released soon after first being announced two years ago.  We're not fans of director Peter Berg's work, but this might be worth checking out.

We'd like to hear the track that Slash recorded with Chester Bennington a number of years ago.  "Doctor Alibi" was eventually released with Motorhead's Lemmy on vocals, which is also awesome, but it would be interesting to hear the late Linkin Park singer paired with the guitarist.

Okay kids, that's going to do it for now.  Let's have Sheryl Crow close things out with, "Soak up the Sun," for today's, "Song of the Day."

Thanks for stopping by, everyone.  It's always a pleasure to hang out with you.  It's already warming up, so enjoy the rest of your day, soak up some sun while you still can, and we'll meet back here again for more randomness soon.  Until next time, that's today's Clearing out the Clutter, and we are outta here.
