Thursday Clutter: Trump, Richard Marx, One California, Warren Buffett, Marcus the Service Dog, Hulk Hogan, Brady Bunch House, and more

Hi everyone,

Welcome back!  How are you?  BDH, Little Buddha, and I were just wondering what we're going to do tonight since the Red Sox don't resume playing until tomorrow.  Any suggestions?  Maybe we'll see what's on Netflix... .or maybe the guys can teach me what they've learned about bird-watching this year.   Anyway, the sun is shining, the Clutter Tree looks good, and the coffee is here.  How about we get to work?  Help yourself to a nice medium DD, because it's time to clear out some Thursday Clutter.

Donald Trump is doing his best to make sure no one understands his position of the day when it comes to Russia.  In all of this desperation to save his backside while not angering Vladimir Putin, this is the funniest thing the Great Pumpkin has said in a while: "(There's) never been a president as tough on Russia as I have been."  Give it to the man, that's comedy gold.

You know who had the best comeback to Donald Trump's tortured use of a double-negative on Tuesday?  Singer Richard Marx, of all people.

Meanwhile, FBI Director Christopher Wray warns that not only did Russia likely interfere in the 2016 elections, the country is still trying to interfere with our democracy.  If only we had someone in the White House, or a political party currently in charge of the government, who would fight for the American public instead of laying down for Putin.  The mid-term elections are now less than four months away.

The California Supreme Court voted to remove a ballot question that would have divided California into three separate states.  The whole thing sounds like something out of Chuck Palahniuk's, Adjustment Day in the first place.  Our only question is why California doesn't resolve this sort of stuff before a question goes onto the ballot in the first place like they do in Massachusetts?

It looks like Warren Buffett is having a difficult time finding companies to buy with Berkshire Hathaway's money, so Buffett's next best option is to buy back more Berkshire Hathaway stock.  We're still not for sale, but if Buffett wants to find other ways to spend some of that $106 billion, BDH and Little Buddha have a few books on their Amazon wish list they'd love to read, and we can also always use more coffee around here.

Is it just us, or are there an increasing number of stories about plants severely injuring people making the rounds this summer?  It sounds like the beginning of a science fiction movie.

Ohhh, BDH and Little Buddha want to introduce you to the Franciscan Children's Hospital's new service dog.  Everyone say hello to Marcus!

It's official:  The Baltimore Orioles traded shortstop Manny Machado to the Los Angeles Dodgers for five prospects.  Good luck to Machado, who goes from a non-competitive team to one battling for a division title.  This move should also be a good thing for the Boston Red Sox, who now have no reason to worry about Baltimore for the rest of this season.

After weeks of speculation, the San Antonio Spurs traded disgruntled star Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green to the Toronto Raptors for DeMar DeRozan, Jakob Poeltl, and a protected 2019 first-round draft pick.  Leonard doesn't sound excited about the deal at all.  Of course, once he said he wanted out of San Antonio, there was no guarantee he'd like his final destination.  The question is, will the Raptors be stuck with a sulking superstar for a year, or will Leonard's anger motivate him to play out of his mind in the final year of his current contract?  The Raptors are clearly banking on the latter.  We're just happy the Celtics didn't get involved in this soap opera.

Former New England Patriots cornerback Darrelle Revis announced his retirement yesterday after an 11-year career in the NFL.

Hulk Hogan has apparently worked his way back into the WWE's good graces three years after being fired when tapes of him using the "N-word" were made public.  Hogan reportedly apologized to all of the WWE superstars before the company's PPV last Sunday (and of course there were cameras.)  While some may be eager to say all is forgiven, the "New Day," a group consisting of three African-American wrestlers, put out this statement on the matter.  Cheers to Kofi Kingston, Big E., and Xavier Woods for their honesty in an industry where that is a rare commodity.

The iconic Brady Bunch house is for sale for the first time in 45 years, so if you're interested in living in Chez Brady, don't miss this window!

Okay kids, that's going to do it for now.  Let's give Richard Marx the final word and have him close things out with, "Right Here Waiting," for today's, "Song of the Day."

Thanks for stopping by, everyone.  It was great to see you, as always.  BDH and Little Buddha want you to know you're invited to join us for Netflix tonight if you're around.  No pressure.  Otherwise, enjoy the rest of your day, be good, and we'll see you back here again for more randomness soon.  Until next time, that's today's Clearing out the Clutter, and we are outta here.
