Hi everyone, Welcome back! Come on in. How are you? BDH and Little Buddha were just bird watching. They think the birds are asking how is it already the end of May? Time sure does go by faster when it's not 20 degrees and snowing. The guys also want to report that the Clutter Tree seems to be doing well, and that makes them happy. A happy duo makes for a happy Clutter Headquarters. Add a little coffee, and now you're talking about a party. There's a fresh pot sitting on the table, so help yourself to a nice medium... Hi everyone, Welcome back! Come on in, have a seat. How's your week going so far? Everything is good on this end. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and BDH and Little Buddha are their normal cheery selves, so what more could a guy ask for? Well, coffee, of course. We've got a fresh pot on the table, so help yourself to a nice medium DD, and let's clear out some Wednesday Clutter. That didn't last long. ABC cancelled the Roseanne revival yesterday after star Roseanne Barr sent a racist tweet attacking former Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett. No... Read more →

We were intrigued by the recent discovery that comic legends Steve Martin and Martin Short have teamed up for a tour. It's been years since the last time we saw Steve Martin do a stand-up routine, and we've never seen Martin Short on stage. Fortunately, Netflix offers their subscribers to see this duo in action with their new special: Steve Martin and Martin Short: An Evening You Will Forget for the Rest of Your Life. Two friends hanging out together and having a few laughs. (pic via Observations (Maybe a few spoilers, but hopefully not too many.) Both men... Read more →

It was purely by chance that I picked up the paperback copy of Chuck Klosterman's X* A Highly Specific, Defiantly Incomplete History of the 21st Century, when I walked into the bookstore. Or was it? The first page I flipped to mentioned Van Halen. The second page was a discussion about KISS, and the third had something to do with Creed. Those three names alone made it clear this was a book that needed reading immediately. X is a collection of culture writer Klosterman's essays on a variety of topics over the last ten years. They're mostly split between music... Read more →

Hi everyone, Welcome back! How are you? Before we get started, we'd like to take a minute to thank those who have lost their lives serving in this country's military... It's raining outside at the moment, which is great for the garden, although it's throwing a bit of a wrench into my plans for the day. Hmmm, well, maybe I can do some of the things on today's list after it dries out a little bit. BDH and Little Buddha just said they wouldn't mind if I wanted to read a book to them, so that's also an option. First,... Read more →

Hi everyone, Welcome back! Come on in, grab a seat. How are you? We barely had any holiday traffic yesterday, which was nice. Plus, BDH and Little Buddha slept for the entire ride. I wish I had taken a picture of the two of them. The garden got a much needed watering last night, and it sounds like there's more rain in today's forecast. That's fine, it's good for the plants and the Clutter Tree. In the meantime, let's see what's going on in the world. We made some coffee, so help yourself to a nice medium DD, and let's... Hi everyone, Welcome back! Are you ready for the long weekend? Good luck to anyone who is traveling today. BDH and Little Buddha asked if they should have drivers licenses in case I can't drive for some reason or if I just want to take a break during a long road trip. They couldn't be sweeter, but I told them that their job was to focus on looking for birds in the Clutter Tree and letting me know when they find some. They seem good with that. Thankfully, they also love making coffee for all of you. There's a fresh... Read more →

Van Halen's OU812 album was released on May 24, 1988, which, according to our calculations, was 30 years ago. Where does the time go? It was the band's second album with singer Sammy Hagar and eighth overall. As a youngin' at the time who was still working on developing his tastes in music, OU812 seemed like a perfectly fine album. The songs were dependable (if not generally that memorable) odes to women and partying. The personal favorite track was always "Cabo Wabo." As always, Eddie Van Halen was doing the kinds of crazy guitar tricks that I dreamed about being... Read more →

How are you doing, Doctor Who fans? It's been five months since Peter Capaldi said goodbye, and we've got about that long to go before Jodie Whittaker starts her run as #13. How are we supposed to pass the time? It's as if the BBC heard us ask, because we just got an email announcing the arrival of a seven-week classic Doctor Who marathon on the Twitch service! We have to admit that we haven't used this platform before, but we expect to become familiar with it quickly for the chance to see our childhood Doctors again. The fun starts... Read more →

Hi everyone, Welcome back! Come on in, have a seat. How are you? We're all doing well, thank you. BDH and Little Buddha are waiting to see if any birds show up in the Clutter Tree today. Speaking of the tree, he looks great. We weren't sure if there would be after-effects from last year's forced pruning, but his leaves are full, and he seems to be healthy, so we're all happy about that. We're also happy to say that the coffee is ready. The guys made you a fresh pot, so help yourself to a nice medium DD, and... Read more →
