Ghost Stories finds the 12th Doctor revisiting his friends from the 2016 Christmas Special (Grant, Lucy, and Jennifer) in a story that's out just in time for Halloween. How does this sequel match up to the original? Let's find out... The Doctor seeks the help of Grant and his family because he needs to collect three crystals, like the one that produces Grant's super-powers, in order to save the universe, so off we go into three adventures in this new collection from Titan Comics. The first story sees a man in the future trying to follow in Grant's footsteps, but... Read more →

Hi everyone, Welcome back! How are you? We've been having some crazy wind around here for about 12 hours now. I can't remember the last time I heard it howl like that for so long. Every time I woke up, it sounded like we were in the opening scene of a Stephen King Halloween novel. There's also the fact that I'm now getting up in the morning well before the sun rises. I can already feel my internal body clock being thrown off. Thanks, fall! Oh well. Thankfully, BDH and Little Buddha are here to help all of us power... Read more →

Hi everyone, Welcome back! How's your weekend going so far? I'm pretty much keeping up with raking the leaves so far, at least as much as I can right now. I don't want to rake the garden beds yet, because the ground still hasn't frozen over. Besides, it was the usual errands yesterday, and of course, there's the Patriots - Jets game this afternoon. However, before that happens, we've got headlines to look through. I'm being informed that the coffee is ready, so help yourself to a nice medium DD, and let's clear out some Sunday Clutter. As we mentioned,... Read more →

The members of Linkin Park just released the episode of Carpool Karaoke that they did with Ken Jeong earlier this year. Watching this show takes on an entirely different tone than was originally intended, given that it was filmed on July 14, 2017, just six days before lead singer Chester Bennington committed suicide. Bennington drives the car, with Jeong in the passenger seat, and bandmates Mike Shinoda and Joe Hahn sitting in the back. Jeong can be both funny and grating as an actor, and it's the same in this case. He continually rips on Shinoda right from the start,... Read more →

Hi everyone, Welcome back! Come on in, have a seat. How are you? Any big plans for the weekend? Nothing too crazy on this end besides another round of cutting back the garden and raking leaves. We're a crazy crew, I tell you. Speaking of the team, BDH and Little Buddha tell me that the coffee is ready, so help yourself to a nice medium DD, and let's clear out some Saturday Clutter. The Red Sox season is over, but we're not lacking for off-season discussions. Chad Finn addresses a recurring question about whether or not the Sox should trade... Read more →

Today may be Friday the 13th, but as far as I'm concerned, it's the luckiest day of 2017, because it's Dad Clutter's birthday! Yes, the big guy has completed another trip around the sun. Feel free to wish him a good one if you see him today. I can't express my thoughts about him better than this blurb from a former Father's Day post: I'd also like to take a moment to give a shout-out to the big man himself, Dad Clutter. I don't know that he always gets enough attention or credit on these pages, so allow me to... Read more →

Hi everyone, Welcome back, and a happy Thursday to you all! I had some weird sleep last night, man. Weird. I fell asleep without much issue at first but then woke up a few hours later as if all I needed was an extended nap. I also know I heard the sounds of a loudspeaker down the road in the middle of the night, but I couldn't hear what they were saying. At least I'm pretty sure I heard it. The evening's dreams were also odd, but of course, now I can't remember what they were. It was just a... Read more →

After what seems like ages since the last issue, Titan Comics is back with Doctor Who: The Lost Dimension (Part 5). Was it worth the wait? Lost Dimension 5 begins with a River Song solo adventure, involving an archeological dig and Silurians. The dialogue is typical sassy River, but every previous chapter of this saga has involved at least one Doctor, and now he's nowhere to be found. This change of pace feels like we're in a different story, and it's a jarring shift in direction. Added to the fact is that this tale isn't particularly engaging, the cliff-hanger isn't... Hi everyone, Welcome back! How's things? Between the Red Sox season being over, gardening season in its final stages (although there are still a few Black-eyed-Susan's hanging around), and Doctor Who not returning until the Christmas Special, there's part of me that feels like 2017 is just about over. However, BDH and Little Buddha did some research, and they claim that there's still about 2 1/2 months left in the year, so we should probably make good use of that time. As usual, I have no counter-argument with these two. The dynamic duo made you a fresh pot of coffee,... Read more →

Hi everyone, Welcome back! Come on in, have a seat. How's your week going so far? We're all a little disappointed about the Red Sox (more on that in a minute), but other than that, things are pretty good. The leaves have started falling in the garden, so there's some raking on the to-do list, but there are also still a handful of flowers hanging out, which is nice. It's probably a bad sign that it's still so warm this far into October, but....I just can't say we mind it that much at the moment. Winter is (truly) coming, so... Read more →
