Hi everyone, Welcome back! Come on in. How are you? Things are a little better on this end than they were yesterday. Most of the plants have recovered from the heat incident, which makes me feel better. One of them is still in tough shape, so that's going to require some extra attention, but I think it will eventually bounce back. Everyone makes mistakes, but it's an awful feeling when you let down a living entity that's completely dependent on you for it's survival. Anyway, moving on. We've got a fresh pot of coffee ready, so help yourself to a... Read more →

Hi everyone, Welcome back. Come on in, have a seat. How are you? In a little bit of a funk at the moment here. I accidentally left the heat on much higher in Clutter Headquarters than I intended while I was gone, and when I got back, I discovered a number of plants who were very mad at me. These are basically my kids, and I feel like a neglectful parent right now. Thankfully, most of them seem to be recovering, following last night's emergency watering, but a couple still need some help, and I'll do whatever it takes to... Read more →

Hi everyone, Welcome back! How are you? Everything is fine on this end at the moment. I've put together most of my Christmas shopping list, so I just need to find some time to focus and get everything. Oh, I should check in with BDH and Little Buddha to see if they've finished their lists. Other than that, there are an unusually large number of meetings on this week's schedule. Not sure how that happened, but oh well. Anyway, the coffee is ready, so help yourself to a nice medium DD, and let's clear out some Monday Clutter. Yesterday's New... Read more →

In and out of the Zone

I took piano lessons my senior year to satisfy my art requirement for college many moons ago. The classes were one hour, twice a week, and the instructor told us we’d have to practice at least three hours a week outside of the classroom for any of it to stick. I did as I was instructed and faithfully practiced that week’s lessons, plus a handful of easy pop songs for fun (including tunes by Phil Collins, Elvis, Whitney Houston, Bette Midler, and more.) By the time I took my final, I had a good grasp of the basics, and maybe... Read more →

Sunday Clutter: New England Patriots, Trump, the Rock, Jimi Hendrix, and more

Hi everyone, Welcome back! Come on in, have a seat. How are you? Weekend going okay so far? I had a very productive day yesterday, including going to the gym to work off some Thanksgiving turkey, so that was good. Other than that, not too much to report here at the moment. Oh, the coffee's ready, so help yourself to a nice medium DD, and let's clear out some Sunday Clutter. The New England Patriots take on the New York Jets later this afternoon, and we must have missed this in all of the Thanksgiving craziness, but Tom Brady didn't... Read more →

Hi everyone, Welcome back! How are you? I hope you had a good Thanksgiving. I don't really see much point to eating for the rest of the month. We've now officially hit what I think is the fastest part of the year. There's something about Thanksgiving - New Year's Eve that always feels like it goes by in a flash. We've got a fresh pot of coffee ready to go, so help yourself to a nice medium DD, and let's clear out some Saturday Clutter. Fidel Castro died yesterday at age 90. Ten U.S. presidents tried to take Cuba's former... Read more →

Hi everyone, Welcome back! How are you? Cheers to all of you who are traveling today. I made the trip to Clutter Headquarters yesterday morning, and everything went smoothly. There was some heavy traffic for just a few minutes while trying to get ot the highway, but after that, it was fine. I also drove straight to the supermarket, because I had this flashback of Mom Clutter complaining about how insane the place was the day before Thanksgiving, and how she'd never do that again. Oh, the things that stick with you. Anyway, the coffee is ready, so help yourself... Read more →

Hi everyone, Welcome back! How are you? How many of you have already driven to your Thanksgiving destination? How was the traffic? I always assume that it's going to be a six-hour drive (when it's normally less than 90 minutes), so that way I'm pleased if it takes less time. BDH and Little Buddha tell me that the coffee is ready, so help yourself to a nice medium DD, and let's clear out some Tuesday Clutter. David Ortiz has a great new article on the Players Tribune site talking about his time in Boston. Obviously as the headquarters of the... Read more →

Hi everyone, Welcome back! How are you? It's pretty windy outside at the moment, which makes everyone here a little anxious about the Clutter Tree. I try to remind BDH and Little Buddha that the tree has been here for a long time, and it's clearly survived a lot. Their response is to ask me why I can't bring the tree inside until the wind dies down, so clearly there's some work to be done here. In any case, we've got a fresh pot of coffee ready for you, so help yourself to a nice medium DD, and let's clear... Read more →

Hi everyone, Welcome back! How are you? It's looking pretty grey outside at the moment. Hmm, that's not fun. Anyway, how's your weekend going? I completed one out of two errands yesterday. Turns out the other one requires a call to customer service who are only open during the week. That was disappointing because I had set aside a large amount of time to deal with this task. On the other hand, the change in the schedule enabled me to have a fairly productive round of Christmas gift brainstorming while I wandered around the neighborhood. Being out of Clutter Headquarters... Read more →
