Hi everyone, Welcome back, and a happy Friday to you all! Any big plans for the weekend? The top action item on the to-do list here is watching David Ortiz's final three regular season games. Where did this year go? Heck, how did his entire career pass by so quickly? Of course, there will be more baseball for Big Papi after Sunday, thankfully. Here's hoping there's at least, let's see...11 more games in October? Other than that, it's business as usual, and that includes sorting through today's headlines, so let's get to work. BDH and Little Buddha say the coffee... Read more →

Hello again! I know, it seems like we were just here, but now that we've had a chance to salute the 2016 AL East champion Boston Red Sox, let's see what else is going on the world. Oh, happy Coffee Day! To celebrate this vital holiday, BDH and Little Buddha made fresh pot, so help yourself to another medium DD, and let's clear out some Thursday Clutter! So the Boston Red Sox won the division, but they've still got four regular season games to go before the post-season begins. Henry Owens takes the mound tonight as Boston faces the New... Hi everyone, Welcome back! How are you? Things are good on this end. I think everyone is still a little wired from last night (more on that in a minute). We're moving remarkably well right now, given how little sleep we got, but it's possible someone's going to need a nap later...You know what? Let's take a few minutes to focus on the Red Sox, and then we'll get to the headlines later. Help yourself to a nice medium DD, as we celebrate your 2016 AL East champions! In all of our years of watching baseball, last night's Boston Red... Read more →

Hi everyone, Welcome back! Come on in, have a seat. How are you? Everyone is fine here at the moment. I'm still looking for a new hobby for BDH and Little Buddha, now that the birds seem to have left the Clutter Tree for the rest of the year. Any thoughts? Maybe I should take them to the library....Speaking of those two, they tell me that the coffee is ready, so help yourself to a nice medium DD, and let's clear out some Wednesday Clutter. All good things must come to an end, and the Boston Red Sox 11-game winning... Read more →

Don't Mess With Me

I take no pleasure writing this post, but sometimes things just need to be said. I think we can all agree that I'm a generally non-violent person. Sure, I'll make the occasional joke about beating someone up, but that's just for laughs. I'm opposed to the death penalty, I think teddy bears are one of the world's greatest inventions, and my idea of a perfect day is to spend hours in the garden and then go visit the newest arrivals to the local animal shelter. There's too much violence and darkness in this world, and the older I get, the... Read more →

Hi everyone, Welcome back! How are you? It's a dark and rainy morning here at the Northern Estate. Even though gardening season is winding down (boo), it's still good for the plants to get a good soaking. It seems like we've had more rain in the last couple of weeks than we had all summer, so this is probably the best the lawn has looked all year. In any case, the coffee is ready, so help yourself to a nice medium DD, and let's clear out some Tuesday Clutter. Here we go, folks. The Boston Red Sox magic number for... Read more →

Hey everyone, Welcome back! Good to see you again today! Don't mind me, I was just putting my bike away. Gotta get a few last rides in before hibernation season kicks in, you know? So, I was thinking that there are still some headlines we didn't get to this morning, so mayyyyybe, if you're in the mood, we could clear out some afternoon Clutter. Sound like a plan? Let's see we've got coffee, seltzer water, and regular water (probably a little too early for beer), so help yourself to whatever you like, and let's see what else is going on... Read more →

Hi everyone, Welcome back! How are you? How was your weekend? Everything is good on this end. It was NASCAR weekend in New Hampshire, which meant helping Dad Clutter park cars again. It's a surprisingly draining day. It's not like there's a lot of running around, but it is about eight hours of standing on his uneven driveway, so by the time we're done, I have to pick my spots about when to get off the couch, because it's suddenly a challenge. Regardless, his folks are friendly, and it's always nice to hang out with the big guy. Now, it's... Read more →

The news came out this afternoon that New England Patriots rookie quarterback Jacoby Brissett suffered an injury in Thursday night's win over the Houston Texans, because of course he did. The football gods seem to be daring the Pats to try to win a game this season without a quarterback. However, at this rate, as I wrote on Facebook earlier today, Bill Belichick could name himself as next week's QB, and I'd still pick the Patriots to beat the Buffalo Bills. That got me wondering how the press conference would go when he made that announcement, and I think it... Read more →

Hi everyone, Welcome back, and a happy Friday to you all! Oh, we did not get enough sleep here last night. Thanks, NFL! Those night games are just brutal. They end too late, and then there's still the matter of waiting for my brain to slow down afterwards so I can finally get to sleep. BDH and Little Buddha were running around like mad at the end of last night's New England Patriots game, and now they're dragging this morning. I told them I'd handle the coffee, but they insisted that it's their job, and they'd take care of it,... Read more →
