Monday Clutter

Hi everyone, Welcome back! How are you? Did you have a good weekend? Yesterday was another gorgeous day. It was perfect weather to sneak in one more bike ride for the year. I think I'll try to focus on that, rather than slightly freaking out that September is already over. I don't know what happened here. The first couple of days seemed to pass at a normal rate, and then it all became blurry somewhere around the 5th. Hopefully things will slow down again soon, because at this rate, I'm going to blink my eyes and realize it's suddenly 2015.... Read more →

Hi everyone, Welcome back! How's your weekend going? Yesterday was hot! It's the end of September, right? Felt more like June. I wore a sweatshirt to the gym firs thing in the morning. It was a marginal call on the way there, and totally unnecessary after I finished putting up the plates for a few hours. Gorgeous day though. Today sounds like it's supposed to be the same deal. However, we've got work to do before we can enjoy the sunshine, so help yourself to a nice medium DD, and let's clear out some Sunday Clutter. Congratulations to the Boston... Read more →

Classic Clutter: Liberty Clutter

Editor's Note: Remembering a fun night in Boston. Sadly, three years later, I'm not much better at keeping in touch with people than I was when I wrote this. Sigh. Every day's a new opportunity to try to improve on that. Originally published: September 17, 2010 Folks, I'm a small town boy at heart. I grew up in a small town and then a small city that's about three people away from being a town. I like small towns. One of the reasons I moved to Boston was that I consider it more like a large town than an actual... Read more →

Thursday Night Clutter: Mariano Rivera Edition

Hi everyone, BDH and Little Buddha are asleep, so you have to be very quiet. New York Yankees Hall of Fame reliever Mariano Rivera received an extended standing ovation at the 2013 All Star game earlier this year that was a moving display of respect from his fellow players and fans from across America. It was one of the more touching moments in sports that I can remember watching in recent years. However, give the New York Yankees credit (yes, I said it), they found a way to top that for Rivera's last home game at Yankee Stadium, when manager... Read more →

Hi everyone, Welcome back! Come on in, make yourself comfortable. Yes, I know, the Clutter Tree's leaves are both changing color and slowly dropping. It really changes the view, doesn't it? It's such a great tree...anyway, BDH and Little Buddha made the coffee, so help yourself to a nice medium DD, and let's clear out some Thursday Clutter. So after wasting everyone's time for 21 hours with a speech that never had any chance of doing anything but filling the U.S. Senate chamber with hot air, Senator Ted Cruz ended his protest against a spending bill that funds Obamacare by...immediately... Hi everyone, Welcome back! Come make yourself comfortable. How's your week going? Tuesday was slightly uneven. It started off busy, but smoothly, then everything spiked for about an hour, and then it settled back down again. Can't really say what caused the spike, though. Maybe too much coffee? Nah, that can't be it. Speaking of which, help yourself to a nice medium DD, because it's time to clear out some Wednesday Clutter. The biggest news of the day yesterday was that the Clutter field trips to Fenway Park aren't over for the year just yet. I snagged tickets to Game... Read more →

Hi everyone, Welcome back. How are you? What's new? How's your week going so far? BDH and Little Buddha are happy to see you, as always. They've already got the coffee ready, so help yourself to a nice medium DD, and let's clear out some Tuesday Clutter. For all of the thousands of Boston Clutterheads out there (and you know who you are), don't forget to vote in today's preliminary city elections! There are many strong candidates running in both the mayoral and city council elections who deserve your attention. Watching the GOP twist themselves into knots over whether or... Read more →

Hi everyone, Welcome back! How are you? How was your weekend? As you know, it was a bit of a struggle for me to get moving on Saturday after watching the Boston Red Sox clinch the AL East title the night before. It took two DD's to be functional enough to drive to NH to see Dad Clutter, and it was a good thing I was awake that that point, because the rental car agency gave me a SUV! That was definitely not what I ordered, but the manager said I'd be doing him a favor it I was okay... Read more →

Hi everyone, I feel like I'm going on roughly 10 minutes of sleep at the moment, so my apologies if this is incoherent rambling, but hopefully a large DD will help. Mom Clutter emailed me yesterday morning to ask if I was going to last night's Boston Red Sox game against the Toronto Blue Jays to hopefully see them clinch the AL East title. I replied that I had a number of things to take care of before I go to NH today, so I'd probably just watch the game on TV. Then I started thinking about it. Jon Lester's... Read more →

Hi everyone, Welcome back and a happy Friday to you all! I'm sorry we didn't get to hang out yesterday. I get cranky when that happens, but BDH and Little Buddha convinced me to move on and focus on the present, and I'm feeling much better now. (They're two smart cookies.) The end of the week has finally arrived, and that calls for a celebration, so help yourself to a nice medium DD, and let's clear out some Clutter. For the first time in four years, the Boston Red Sox are heading to the playoffs, thanks to a dominant performance... Read more →
