Saturday Clutter

Friday Clutter

Hi everyone,

Happy Friday!  I didn't think this day was ever going to get here.  Did this week seem about a month long, or was that just me?  Maybe I'm just tired from pushing way through this soupy air.  Anyway, the week is almost done, and then tomorrow I'm off to Dad Clutter's house for the first NASCAR visit of the year.  For those of you who might not have heard about this before, Dad Clutter parks cars on his driveway for people who are attending the NASCAR race at the New Hampshire International Speedway, and I help him out (as the muscle, of course.)  It's a long day, but he's got a a group of regulars, and many of them are the friendliest people you'll ever meet.  However, there's work to be done before that happens, so help yourself to a nice medium iced DD, and let's finally close out this week with a little Clutter.

I still have some time to go, but I am starting to get just a tiny bit anxious about the fact that my refinancing application for Clutter Headquarters hasn't closed yet, because we're now heading into rates that wont make sense for me to consider if this falls through.  The good news is that this sprawling mansion is affordable under my current mortgage, so it won't be the worst thing ever if it falls through.  I just wanted to reduce my minimum monthly debt a bit.

It's amazing what a disconnect there is between Wall Street and Main Street.  Stocks hit new highs yesterday basically because Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke said the economy will continue to need help from from the Fed for the foreseeable future.

Pat Robertson says he's "not-gay."  It's just that homosexuals are either sexual abuse victims or have chromosomal damage.   Glad we cleared that up.  Does anyone younger than 70 listen to Robertson anymore?

America will be denied the happiest high fives in the history of the All Star game, because Red Sox reliever Koji Uehara failed to secure the last spot on the American League roster.

The bad news keeps coming for the New England Patriots.  This time it's defensive back Alfonzo Dennard being arrested on a DUI charge.   Dennard is already on probation due to an incident where he assaulted a police officer last year.  Will Patriots owner Bob Kraft say the team was "duped" by Dennard as well?

I try not to speak well of any New York Yankee, but welcome back, Derek Jeter.  The All Star made his season debut yesterday and immediately hit a single in his first at-bat of the year.  It will be interesting to see how the 39-year old shortstop has recovered from his badly broken left ankle.

Pearl Jam's new studio album is on the way.

My memory of Grown Ups was that Adam Sandler and company never had a script and clearly just got paid to hang out for a few weeks.  I remember wanting my money back, despite the fact that I watched it on television, so no, I probably will not be seeing the sequel.

Okay kids, that's going to do it for now.  The first single from Pearl Jam's new album is called, "Mind Your Manners," and I'm struck by what a soft ballad it is.  It's almost the kind of tune that could gently put you to sleep on a warm summer's night.  That's different.

I'm just messing with you.  It kicks ass, and it's today's, "Song of the Day."

Thanks for stopping by, everyone.  It was great to see you, as always.  Enjoy the rest of your day, and we'll probably meet up again before I head to Dad Clutter's, but if we don't, could someone please check in on BDH and Little Buddha for me at some point this weekend?  I'm sure everything will be fine, but I worry at times.  Until next time, that's today's Clutter, and we are outta here.
