Friday Clutter
06/14/2013
Hi everyone,
Welcome back, and a happy Friday to you all! I just finished reviewing the rules of the house with BDH and Little Buddha, and no I'm off to Baltimore to see the Red Sox take on the Orioles for two games, and to enjoy some crab cakes. However, we need to take care of some business before any of that happens, so help yourself to a nice medium DD, and let's wrap up this week with some Clutter.
I do not understand how regular hockey fans do this for an entire season. I had at least five "cardiac incidents" during game 1 of the Stanley Cup finals on Wednesday night. There's just no way I'd make it through the whole year. I'm going to have to step up my cardio at the gym if the rest of the series is going to be like this. The Bruins may have lost 4-3 to the Chicago Blackhawks, but Chad Finn says not to worry, so I'm good. Oh, remind me to get some Tums later.
Just getting started. (pic via ap.org)
Even in the midst of these perpetually-divisive times, it appears there may be one thing that unites almost all Americans: We dislike Congress. My question, as always, is, who is the 10% of the country who thinks this crew is doing a good job? Not to sound like a broken record, but it's got to be wealthy white guys, right? They're the only ones who are benefiting from this mess.
I'm still waiting to hear if my refinancing application for Clutter headquarters has been approved. It should be, I mean, I have great credit, and I've been on time with my payments for all these years, so hopefully there won't be a problem, because the lower interest rate I worked out seems to be qickly vanishing.
I certainly wouldn't claim to know what all pets are thinking, but I'm confident that BDH spends his time feeling content to hang out with Little Buddha during the day, and then to have me join both of them for the Red Sox game in the evening. Otherwise, why would be be smiling all the time? That's one happy little dog.
Yesterday we were talking about old Yahoo! email accounts, and now it sounds like I should take a look and see if my old MySpace account still exists. I'm starting to feel like a neglectful Internet parent or something here.
What do my good friends at Vanguard have to say about the future of 401(k)s?
Legendary New York Yankees closer Mariano Rivera is finding creative ways to entertain himself as he plays in his final season.
Come on now, it can't really be that hard to rebrand the Washington Redskins with a name and logo that aren't blatantly racist. Also, I'd like to see NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell try to keep eye contact with a Native American organization and restate his belief that the name stands for "strength, courage, pride, and respect."
Okay kids, that's going to do it for now. Granted, we don't generally have much positive to say in this neck of the woods about any member of the GOP, but let's give credit where credit is due. New Jersey Governor Chris Christie does a helluva job slow--jamming the news, and perhaps that's really all we can ask for these days. See for yourself with today's, "Clip of the Day."
Thanks for stopping by, everyone. It was great to see you, as always. The current plan calls for a check-in from Baltimore at some point, so please come back again soon so we can do this all over again. Oh, and if one of you wouldn't mind checking in on BDH and Little Buddha at some point, that would be awesome. They can handle themselves, but they always love to hang out with you. Until next time, that's today's Clutter, and we are outta here.
