Is Charlie Sheen My Fault?

I think Charlie Sheen will likely die this year, and I'm worried it's my fault. You can't go anywhere right now without hearing some mention of Charlie Sheen's current meltdown. He's in the newspaper, on the radio, on television, and on the Internet. God is it on the Internet. It's probably the subject of one out of six friend's Facebook statuses, and it's probably one out of three tweets in my feed. The man is a train wreck. He looks startlingly bad on TV. Sheen has serious demons, and despite his protestations to the contrary, he's clearly not winning. This... Read more →

Monday Clutter

Hi everyone, Nice to see you all again on this dreary Monday. This could easily end up becoming a two DD day, so grab your first cup, and let's get down to business and see what we've got to kick off the week. Robert Kennedy's assassin Sirhan Sirhan claims he should be paroled because he doesn't remember killing Kennedy. Something tells me that's not the strongest argument ever heard by the parole board. The 2011 Oscars came and went. I'm sort of tempted to write an Oscar-only piece, but let's keep to the basics for now. Let's start with a... Read more →

Sunday Clutter

Hi everyone, Happy Sunday to you. Hey, what do you know, it's snowing out. This is the kind of Sunday that makes a guy want to just stay at home and chill for the day with a nice medium DD. However, it's a Sunday where a guy must eventually go out and do a food shopping because there's nothing else to eat or drink besides a medium DD in Clutter Headquarters. It may come as a surprise to some, but man can not live on DD alone. Trust me on this one. First, let's take a peek and see what's... Read more →

Saturday Clutter

Hi everyone, Welcome back! Glad you could join us again. We've missed you! How was your week? We just made some coffee, so grab yourself a nice medium DD, and let's kick off the weekend. It might be freezing out there today, but spring is still in the air as the Red Sox start their spring training season with a doubleheader today. It looks like so far, so good, for Dustin Pedroia and Kevin Youkilis as they fight back from their season ending injuries. I know the Red Sox only actually signed two major free agents this off-season, but it... Read more →

Rainy Friday Clutter

Hi everyone, This is not what you would call a "sunny" Friday, but no matter what, it's still Friday, so we all still win. Grab yourself a nice hot medium DD, and let's close out the week in style, because that's just what we do around here, and we do it well. Basketball is a solid number three for me as a fan, after baseball and football, but even I know that it's a big deal that the Boston Celtics traded center Kendrick Perkins (and Nate Robinson) to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Apparently Celtics general manager Danny Ainge didn't like... Read more →

Thursday Clutter

Hi everyone, How are we doing? It's Thursday, and the weekend is right around the corner, so that's got to be a good sign. Grab yourself a nice hot medium DD, and let's get down to business while we wait for Friday's arrival, shall we? And away we go... Goldman Sachs says that the budget cuts just passed by the House GOP would hurt the economy. Will Speaker Boehner and company simply claim that, much like their view of the Congressional Budget Office, Goldman Sachs are just a bunch of guys with some opinions? The Dow Jones Industrial Average has... Read more →

Wednesday Clutter

Hi everyone. Happy Wednesday! So good to see you all again. We had a couple of days off from the headlines, but it's time to jump back into the swing of things. Grab yourself a nice hot medium DD, and let's see what Clutter needs clearing today. Let's start by getting the most pressing news item out of the way first: The Red Sox are expected to pick up manager Terry Francona's option for the next two years. That's terrific news. Clutter is a huge fan of Tito and believes he is the perfect fit for Boston, both on and... Read more →

Moving SNL Clutter

The memory is slightly fuzzy, but I'm pretty sure the first pop music cassette (yes, boys and girls, and actual tape cassette) that I ever owned was "Billy Joel Greatest Hits. Vol. 1-2." I played that sucker until the actual tape started disintegrating. There were 25 songs on that double album, and I knew the lyrics to all of them by the time it was over. I mean, what else was I going to sing? It was the only tape I had. One of the songs was "Goodnight Saigon" which told the story of a group of Marines as they... Read more →

Ready To Go Clutter

Happy Monday, one and all. Grab yourself a nice hot DD, and have a seat, because it's time once again for another song off the Monday Morning Jukebox. What have we got today to set the tone of the week? Are we going to knock the crap out of Monday and tell it to get out of town? Will we just laugh all day like little children? Do we dread the day like a trip to the dentist for gum surgery? What's it going to be, kids? I know many of you have today off (cheers to General George and... Read more →

Come On Feel The Clutter

Just a few bits of Clutter to clear while enjoying a medium DD and wondering why I was never invited to try out for the Red Sox bullpen. Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachmann highlight the next big problem facing our country: Breastfeeding, of course. We're so lucky to have the two of them protecting this country's health and future. Does anyone want to take a trip with me today to the Borders on Boylston Street today? It's one of the stores that's closing, and with discounts of 20-40%, I might have to pick up a book or two. Here's a... Read more →
