Heard on the Bus

Saturday, August 21, 2010, between 3-4pm on the 57 bus heading from Brighton Center to Kenmore. Man and a woman are sitting together on the bus. The man looks to be in his early 20's, wearing a tight black t-shirt, bald, short, and built like a fire hydrant. The woman is roughly the same age, overly bleached hair with much of her roots showing, and wearing a white tank top with an orange sports bra. The man is explaining to his friend how to throw a proper punch, with an accent straight out of "Good Will Hunting." "You make a... Read more →

Thursday Clutter

Good morning, folks. We have our annual New Year's Eve Clutter coming tomorrow, so this will be the last look at the news for 2010. Grab yourself a medium DD, and let's end the year in style. Newark Mayor Cory Booker is a Twitter master. Look for other politicians to imitate his efforts following this week's snowstorm. New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, on the other hand, did himself no favors with his handling of the snow. U.S. Senator Scott Brown's new book comes out right around my birthday next year. In case you were wondering if this is the... Read more →

Wednesday Clutter

Happy Wednesday, everyone. Grab yourself a nice hot DD, and lets clear out some Clutter for one of the final times in 2010. Vice President Joe Biden gets an early start on the 2012 Election. Regardless of whether or not Jon Stewart is the next Edward R. Murrow or Walter Cronkite, his recent "Daily Show" episode solely focused on the 9/11 Responders Bill was some of the best television of the year. It's hard to listen to/take seriously any public leader who talks about the need to get this country's finances in order but refuses to discuss reducing defense spending.... Read more →

Tuesday Clutter

Hi Folks, Yes, it's that time again. Grab yourself a medium DD, and let's clear out some 2010 Clutter while we still can. Natalie Portman takes her commitment to her latest film "Black Swan" to the next levelby announcing that she's engaged to costar Benjamin Millepied and that they're expecting a baby. Somewhere, Timothy Hutton is sad. U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor is already making her presence felt. Nebraska continues to be a national leader in the never-ending drive to make health decisions for women, even if it puts their health or lives at stake. It may become even... Read more →

Monday Clutter

Hi Folks, Apparently it snows in Boston in the winter. Who knew? Looking out the windows from the top floor of Clutter Headquarters, I see people driving slowly. Be careful out there if you have to go to work today. Your boss will understand if you're a little late. So, whether you're reading this from the office, or at home in your pj's, grab yourself a medium DD, and let's see what we've got today. Congratulations to the 2010 AFC East champion New England Patriots. The Patriots secured a first round bye and home field advantage throughout the playoffs by... Read more →

Sunday Clutter

Just a few bits of Clutter to clear while waiting for the snow to hit. Still unclear whether I'll be able to get out of the house again before tomorrow afternoon, but as long as I have a medium DD to pass the time with, I'm happy to let the flakes fall where they may. Let's get down to business. I hope you all had a great Christmas (for those of you who celebrate such things). One of my favorite parts of Christmas is seeing my aunt and cousins and enjoying some delicious meatballs. It's always great to see them,... Read more →

Christmas Eve Clutter

Hi Folks, Christmas Eve is finally here, and that can only mean one thing-- It's time for my most favorite Christmas email ever. People don't seem to forward funny emails as much as they used to, but I used to get this every year from friends back in the 1990's, and it still stands the test of time. I think this email really finds that fine line between Christmas dreams and Christmas reality. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do, and may you all have a very merry Christmas. Don't forget to look for the next bit... Read more →

Thursday Clutter

Hi Folks, Merry Christmas Eve Eve to you all. Everyone done with their shopping? If so, congratulations! I say you make yourself a nice hot DD and pull up a seat while we take a look at some Clutter. If you're not done, hey, you still have plenty of time. I mean, there's today and tomorrow, and I'm sure the stores won't be crowded at this late date, right? A programming note if you will. I've been going through some of Clutter, and I'm going to be reposting the links on Facebook to some of my favorite bits over the... Read more →

Wednesday Clutter

Hi folks, It looks like we've got a lot of Clutter to clear out today, so grab yourself a medium DD, and let's get to it. Hey, it beats trying to convince your boss that you're actually doing work this week, right? Here we go... It's official, Massachusetts is going to lose a congressional seat in 2012. Which member of the state delegation is going to get bumped? Whoever it ends up being, this is going to be a loss for the state as Massachusetts must have one of the most influential delegations in the country. With the U.S. Senate... Read more →

Tuesday Clutter

Hi Folks, What an ugly day outside. I hope you all make it to and from work without any incidents today. I'm already done with snow. Is it time for spring yet? Oh well, grab yourself a medium DD, and let's see what's on the schedule for today. Executions are down 12% from last year. It will be another day forward for this country when they're down to 0% and we demonstrate that our judicial system has stepped into the 21st century. It's kind of a drag being associated with the Sudan in this situation. President Obama will sign the... Read more →
