Baseball giveth and baseball taketh away. The day after hitting three home runs, Dustin Pedroia fractured his left foot by hitting a foul ball on it. It's unclear how long he'll be out for, though it sounds like six weeks on the long end. It's amazing the the Red Sox are doing so well, considering how many injuries they've had, now also including Clay Buchholz hyperextending his knee during Saturday's game. I'll clearly need a copy of Sammy Hagar's autobiography when it comes out. Don't ever doubt The Laser Show. Congrats to Dustin Pedroia, who went 5-5 with one, two, three home runs, including the game winner as the Red Sox beat the Rockies 13-11. He may be on the short side of five feet tall, but Pedroia has hit some Ortiz-esque bombs. It also doesn't hurt that he's part of my team in my home run pool.
